Haque claims all-Odisha snooker title

Experienced campaigner Ahsan-ul Haque claimed the title by winning all three of his semifinal league matches in the Q-Ball All-Orissa Open Snooker Tournament, which concluded here at Cuttack Road today.

Siddharth Sen of Cuttack finished runner-up, while second seed Rakesh Roshan Pradhan and Satyadeep Das occupied the third and fourth positions respectively. Organised by Q-Ball, a local billiard, snooker and pool parlour, the tournament offered a total cash prize of Rs 37,000.

Haque bagged the top prize of Rs 15,000, while runner-up Sen received Rs 7,000. The third and fourth position occupants were given Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. State Sports Minister Debasis Nayak gave away the trophy and cash prizes at the closing function.

In the remaining three semifinal league matches, Siddharth Sen beat Rakesh Roshan Pradhan and Satyadeep Das 4-1 and 4-2 respectively, while Pradhan defeated Das 4-2.
